Data We Collect

Account & Authentication

• Name, Email Address, and Phone Number (used for authentication and WhatsApp integrations).
• Passwords (these are irreversibly encrypted and hashed using bcrypt; we cannot see them).
• Sign-in methods (Google, Apple, or Email/Password).
• Authentication tokens and secure session data.
• Role identification (Member, Trainer, or Admin) and Gym Invite Codes.

Profile & Fitness Information

To provide personalized workout and class scheduling services, we may collect:

• Basic biometric data provided during onboarding (e.g., height, weight, fitness goals).
• Workout logs, template assignments, and personal training session history.
• Class booking and attendance records.
• Profile pictures (if voluntarily uploaded).

Device & App Permissions

The GymVise app operates strictly on a permission-based model. We only access device features when absolutely necessary and with your explicit consent:

• Camera / Photo Library: Only accessed when you choose to upload a profile picture or gym logo.
• Push Notifications: Used for class reminders, gym announcements, and personal training updates.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information strictly to provide, secure, and improve the GymVise ecosystem:

• Service Delivery: To create your account, sync your workouts, manage class schedules, and link you to your specific gym or trainer.
• Communication: To send critical account updates, password resets, and optional WhatsApp notifications (if you explicitly opt-in).
• Security: To detect and prevent unauthorized access, fraudulent activity, or abuse of our services.
• Improvements: To analyze crash logs and aggregate usage metrics to fix bugs (like keyboard lag or rendering issues) and build better features.

Information Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data is only shared in the following highly restricted scenarios:

• Within Your Gym: If you join a gym as a Member, your Gym Admin and assigned Personal Trainers can view your profile, workout logs, and attendance to provide their services to you.
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party infrastructure (like secure cloud hosting databases, secure payment gateways, and WhatsApp messaging APIs) to run the app. These providers are strictly bound by confidentiality agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
• Legal Requirements: If required to comply with a valid legal subpoena, court order, or applicable law.

Data Security & Storage

We take the security of your fitness and personal data incredibly seriously:

• Encryption in Transit: All data sent between your app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.
• Password Security: We use bcrypt salting and hashing. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Infrastructure Security: Our databases are protected by strict firewalls, secure access controls, and are isolated from public internet access.

While we implement production-grade security, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data within GymVise:

• Access & Update: You can review and edit your profile information directly inside the app at any time.
• Notification Preferences: You can enable or disable Push Notifications and WhatsApp alerts from your device settings or app preferences.
• Data Deletion: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and associated data. You can instantly delete your account directly from within the app by going to Profile > Account > Delete Account, or by contacting your Gym Admin.

Children's Privacy

GymVise is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us immediately so we can delete the information.
